Grady Health System is one of the largest public
health systems in the United States – and
includes Grady Memorial Hospital, nine neighborhood
health centers, the only level Ι trauma center in
the region and
the largest nursing facility in the state, Crestview
Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Grady has a nationally acclaimed burn unit and diabetes
center, a 24-hour Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center
and the Georgia Cancer Center for Excellence. The
state’s only Poison Center is housed at Grady,
and Grady Emergency Medical Service is the ambulance
provider for the city of Atlanta.
Grady is an internationally recognized teaching
hospital, staffed exclusively by physicians from
Emory University and Morehouse schools of medicine.
Twenty-five percent of all physicians practicing
medicine in Georgia today received some or all of
their training at Grady.
Grady’s Infectious Disease Program is the
largest publicly funded program of its kind in the
eastern United States and is consistently named one
of the top three HIV/AIDS outpatient clinics in the
country. Other unique services include Grady’s
certified Primary Stroke Center, ambulatory medicine
and urgent care centers, a dedicated 60 Plus service
line for older adults, a regional perinatal center
and a neonatal intensive care unit.
The Henry W. Grady Health System Foundation was
formed in 1993 to help fund Grady’s remarkable
scope of medical services. Moreover, Grady Health
System is one of Atlanta’s largest downtown
employers, generating more than $1.6 billion for
the Atlanta economy.
