Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta has been named to the Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability Quality Honor Roll. Grady is one of 56 hospitals in Georgia to be placed in the presidential category, one of the highest on the list. The honor roll is based on clinical data provided by the federal Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services, which administers the nation’s Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Grammy Award-winning artist Estelle will perform for Grady Health Foundation’s Travel in Pink event Tuesday, November 16, 2010, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Travel in Pink, presented by Delta Air Lines, will take place at the Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum, Hangar 2 and feature a Delta airplane as the centerpiece.

Atlanta celebrities are joining forces with Grady Memorial Hospital to support a new grassroots fund-raising campaign designed to inspire community giving and increase awareness for Atlanta’s premier Level I Trauma Center. “Give to Grady” or “G2G” is set to launch Friday, September 10 at 12:30 p.m. EST with a mass messaging event on Twitter and Facebook.

In a little over a week, Grady paramedic Simeon Smith will take part in his fifth Peachtree Road Race, but the 28-year-old won’t be running or walking, he’ll be riding, as part of the Grady EMS bike medic team. This Fourth of July, Smith will be celebrating his survival.

Just as the Grady Health System has been undergoing a transformation, so has the Grady Health Foundation. Established 14 years ago to support the operations of Grady Hospital, the foundation has just doubled the size of its board and is bolstering its community presence and fundraising efforts. Several of the new board members represent companies that have made major gifts toward the $325 million Grady capital campaign, aimed at upgrading the hospital’s technology and facilities.
